The Case of the Missing Stationery

Dearest Detectives,

A few of you have written in about some confusing wording in Letter 2 of our recent mystery, The Armchair Detective. At the top of page 2, Wark Mackenzie writes:

“I found the charred remains of a fire. Included were several intact pages of stationary for a concern called Knollen Finances, with offices on Lime Street in the City of London and 11 Rue Treblig, Paris. (I have taken the liberty of enclosing the top page for your analysis.)”

This was poor wording on our part, and we apologize. This stationary was not meant to be included, and all clues needed to solve the mystery are present within the letters you received. If we could do it over, we’d word that section as follows:

“I found the charred remains of a fire. Included were several blank pages of stationary for a concern called Knollen Finances, with offices on Lime Street in the City of London and 11 Rue Treblig, Paris.”

Our sincere apologies for the confusion, and many thanks to sleuths who brought this to our attention.

All the best,

The Dear Holmes Team
